The unique experience of the fresh sea breeze, the wide countryside and the mediterranean sunlight
at my home in southern Spain inspires my creative flow.
Sandra Schawalder was born and grew up in Switzerland. Her talent for drawing and painting was discovered and encouraged early. She graduated from the Arno Stern Academy in Paris and the Arsa Art School Aarau in Switzerland. As a professional Swiss woman artist, she is a member of the SSWA the Swiss Society of Woman Artists of the Visual Arts. She is based in Switzerland and Spain.
Works full of stillness, harmony and light. Sandra Schawalder is a delicate and sensitive artist, who is highly concentrated at work.
She needs silence and emotional consistency to realise her inner works, which intuitively follow her feelings. This mirror of her soul is at the same time the visual interpretation of her experiences and feelings in everyday life that are characterised by Mediterranean light and colour tones. She creates her paintings with colours, surfaces and shapes, complemented by impulsive drawing gestures and structured with striking brush strokes. These serene, harmonious works, vibrating with spherical sounds, touch the viewer at the core.
Represented by national and international galleries, museums, art fairs and houses of culture. Her works can be seen in international public institutions as well as in private art collections and have been awarded by national and international art prizes.
